The Guinness World Record #BeatCancer event is officially over. It ended 9am Pacific Daylight Time, October 17th.

Thanks to all of you who have tweeted, put up Facebook Posts & mentioned #BeatCancer in your blogs. In the end, you helped raise more than a penny per tweet. In all, these four cancer organizations have earned over $70,000. Thanks to our sponsors: MillerCoors, eBay/PayPal and Genesis Today.

MillerCoors was happy to team up with beatcancereverywhere.com in its groundbreaking penny per tweet campaign to raise funds for cancer research through social media.

Due to an overwhelming response, thousands of tweeters helped set a new Guinness World Record for the distribution of the largest mass message through social media.

As a result, MillerCoors will join several other corporate partners in making a meaningful contribution to some very worthy not for profit organizations in the fight against cancer.

Stand Up To Cancer is a new initiative created to accelerate groundbreaking cancer research, getting new therapies to patients quickly and saving lives. The mission of Alex's Lemonade Stand is to raise money and awareness of childhood cancer causes and educate others, especially children, to raise money for childhood cancer by holding their own lemonade stands. Bright Pink is a national non-profit organization that provides education and support to young women who are at high risk for breast and ovarian cancer. Spirit Jump is a grassroots non-profit organization with a mission to provide hope and comfort to the many men, women and children battling cancer.
